Review: EP Release Party - 6.01.2012

Friday, June 1st, Pine Box Rock Shop hosted an EP release party for I Am the Third's new album, Kill the Kittens. Below, you can see the clever flyer for the show:

The band has been doing all sorts of projects and getting a lot of work done, and at least some of that work has focused on putting together a fantastic show, it seems, because this one was right on the mark. The crowd was dancing, the grooves were positive, and everyone had a smile on their face.

If you couldn't make it to the performance, you can still check out some of the live footage from the show to see for yourself.

Sometimes, as Alec likes to explain, we all have to draw a line in the sand. This song reminds you of that place we all reach at some point where you have to make a decision to stay true to yourself.

"The Way Love Spins" reminds us of the crazy world we live in.

Though the band generally tries to keep things positive,  "Kill the Kittens," the title track of their new EP, explores the dark places that we try to avoid but can't always stay out of.

"Vanilla Sky," true to the "dream rock" groove that IATT is best known for, is about seeking the truth and overcoming those things in life that try to hold you back.

Finally, the band also took part in a little "behind the scenes" video that night, which invites you to get to know the people behind I Am the Third just a little bit better:

Congratulations, IATT, on the new CD, and good luck on your work toward many more!
