Rockwood Music Hall - 4.28.13

In case you missed it, I Am the Third rocked Rockwood Music Hall last Sunday to a packed and energetic crowd. The intimate stage gave the show a cozy feel despite the crowd's size, and Alec's engagement with the audience seemed to make each and every person listening feel as if the smooth, inspiring grooves were tailored just to them.

The performance included a couple firsts. Not only was it the first time the group shared their sound with Rockwood, it was also the first time a baby grand piano joined them on stage.

The crowd was full of energy from the opening acts and more than ready to hear some uplifting, soulful sounds from I Am the Third.

As for their soulful Dream Rock performance that night, to say the least, everyone could feel it...

Do you get it? Because now I'm sharing with you their instrumentally driven funk track, "Can You Feel It." (See what I did there? Ha!)

The stage was a semi-circle, so fans could enjoy the performance from multiple angles, with an unique experience boasted from every seat in the house.

As always, some of IATT's biggest fans were there to show their support.

And, of course, each member of the show had something special to bring to show their love to those who come to cheer 'em on.

Dan, lead guitarist, sported some classy specs as he wooed the audience with his intricate playing and Kat, as always, raised the heartbeat of everyone at the show with her sexy bass playing and saucy attire.

From the back, Steve played the drums to bring those beats that seduce the audience into dancing.

Their song "It Won't Be Long" gave the audience something to look forward to as they enjoyed the uplifting tune about being true to yourself.

LS, in his own personal spotlight the entire show, brought his usual complex beats and classic smile to the stage.

The audience couldn't get enough of Brandon's magic on the baby grand.

And, as always, Alec's smooth voice and heartfelt lyrics pulled everyone in to the music.

Each and every member of the band put forth a performance that was both intimate and far-reaching.

The audience was definitely feeling the groove by the time the band pulled out their new track, "Groove Machine."

And between singing, clapping, cheering, and dancing, the audience was as much a part of the show as the instruments on stage.

Moving smoothly on, the band played "Love the Way You Love," a heartwarming R&B song about yearning and letting love be enough.

The performance continued with songs both old and new and each of them powerful and positive.

The last song of the show was the band's own "Laura Palmer," which had everyone dancing, smiling, and enjoying the energetic and upbeat music.

But, after much pleading from an audience not ready to see the show end, I Am the Third continued to play one encore song, signing off for the night with the title track for their upcoming album, Western Love.

As always, the band finished strong to a room full of applause with an audience newly moved and motivated to conquer the challenges of life in the concrete jungle, armed with I Am the Third's songs and their special brand of Dream Rock to carry with them.

And, as I let this final photo speak for the show, clearly, the fans were blown away!

Haha, seriously though, always a special thanks to Basar for most
of the photos and videos that ends up on this site!
